Una Rams Set to Crush New Era and Isn’t Shy About It

This has been one of the chilliest winters of recent memory, coupled only by the fact that Coco has kept most of us still and on Lockdown through this period. Spring is on the horizon and coming with it is one of the warmest acts around, Una Rams. After a 2-year hiatus, in which he primarily kept active through a slew of features, the sonic nomad is set to return with a brand-new 7 track EP, titled Crush, set to get you giddy for the season. Through a virtual listening session Una Rams premiered three of the songs from the project including lead-single Shy, set to come out on 31st July 2020. The follow up to Wavy Baby was described as a collection of songs to achieve your crush with. He further described Crush as a soundtrack for those who want to say something but don’t quite have the right words to do so. Love is the vibe and love is the goal set with this new project, and if the exclusive teasers were any indication Rams is definitely going to heat things up for the summer.

The three songs premiered at the listening sessions tease the sonic nomad venturing comprehensively into the sonic landscapes of afrobeat, funk and Caribbean influences with great appreciation. This new era finds Rams confidently providing whine-waisting bangers, salaciously scintillating lyrics and memorable hooks over lush and anthemic C-Tea productions. Shekhinah appears on the darker Sixth Sense with a titillating feature that begs a full-release from the chanteuse whilst Never Knew harkens a Colbert Mukwevho sample that connects the Venda Veteran to the Venda Pop Star. The influences are vast, rich and intoxicating, they feel primed for live experiences with a full band. Una Rams is set to crush his new era and isn’t shy about it and I personally can’t wait to have the full listening experience when it drops. Until then we have to make do with lead-single Shy dropping 31st July and his Urban Sessions Cyber Concert on the 6th August.
